Took 2 friends and their sons out to Newman for a couple hours. Took some time to get the kids to figure out that their odds of catching a fish were greatly increased if they would quit catching each others line. First fish of the night was caught by my friend's 13 year old; 43 inch, 18lb very healthy and fiery muskie. It was a very good first muskie for the kid and he did a great job of landing it. Half hour later I had my first muskie of the season on board. Not a big one (30 inches) but it was my first muskie on a Gone Fishin Lure Co. Spinner bait. We got a few bass as well, no big ones though. We got some good pictures which I will get off my camera soon and post.
Both muskie caught were released healthy and unharmed. TJ's fish was not weighed by hooking the fish in the jaw with a scale but rather by weighing the net with the fish in it and then without the fish.
