Fished at Bunker's Resort. Paid $4 to fish off the dock. Whew.... and that dock... it is open to the water. Where this dock is located, the lake is narrow. And, it appeared that many boaters did not "respect" the no wake zone. With regularity, that dock bucked like you were riding a mechanical bull.
I must say, that the three gentlemen next to me caught their limit while we were there. I started out with chartreuse power bait and a worm on the bottom of the lake. Didn't pan out for me.
One of the gents next to me said that the fish were going crazy off red. We switched from chartreuse to red powerbait. Still nothing.
It turns out that one of the fellows next to me was using a red wedding ring spinner. He caught three with that while I was there. After he caught my limit, this fine fellow clipped off his wedding ring and gave it to me with his remaining worms! He said that where we were at, that the lake was about 50 feet deep. He said, throw out the spinner, count to 10 to let it sink a bit then reel 'er in.
I did. I caught a nice 12 inch trout. Unfortunately, I had to head back to my camp (at Fish Trap Lake) shortly after receiving my new found friend (the wedding ring).
