Took my kayak out on Terrell. It was a beautiful afternoon for paddling. Not too windy, but enough that I could use the breeze for a slow trolling motor. The lake was very weedy, but not much algae and still fishable.
Unfortunately, the bass didn't want to come out to play.
I pulled a boo-yah spinner fast across the surface. Nothing. Slowed down and bounced it up and down the water column. Nothing. Switched to a pop-r. Nope. Texas rigged a green 3" twin-tailed grub and bounced it on the bottom, all over the lake, on the edges, in the reeds, through the pads and weeds, in every deep spot I could find. No bass.
I did, however, get dozens of bites from either perch or bluegill. They weren't large enough to eat the plastic, but they were feisty enough to tear pieces off it. Anyone who wanted a mess of perch would have had a great day.
Call Bill Dance! What am I doing wrong?
