Took my fiancee Pamela out for an evening of trolling on I-82 pond # 2. The weather has been beautiful and cooler, so It was a perfect evening and conditions to get my girl into some fish. I had pre-tied a number of wedding ring spinners in red/silver, chartuse/brass and a couple of gold/pearl Smiley blade spinners with a # 6 & #4 True Turn light wire panfish hooks. Pam used a red beaded wedding ring with a rainbow trout colored blade, while I stuck to the gold/pearl Smiley blade, both tipped with 1/2 a worm. We also set an 1/8th oz. bullet weight, # 10 black snapswivel and red bead about 3 ft from our spinners. After 30 pulls of line, the action was pretty fast and furious, and it wasn't long before both of us had 4 keepers apiece. So switched out the bait hooks to # 6 barbless green and cherise Carey special flies so we could catch and release the rest of our trout. We ended up catching and releasing nearly 2 dozen fish (along with retaining our final biters for (2) 5 fish limits) in barely an hour and a half. Now Pam is a fishing addict! She wants to go back soon...tonight we had the whole lake to ourselves, lots of fiesty fish to 14" and good fighters. Don't get much better than that, (even if I never did throw a jig. LOL...)
