My wife, daughter and I went out for an evening excursion fishing for trout. All year I've been fishing more than ten times and I haven't caught one fish or had a single bite. I've never had very good luck fishing except for when I was in Alaska for a summer and it's almost impossible to not catch fish there. I've never caught a bass so I was fishing for bass for about the first 7 trips this year and I finally decided to work on trout. While we fish for trout I can troll which makes things easier for my wife and I to keep an eye on our 21 month old daughter. Anyways, I got a really heavy bite and couldn't hook it, right after I added some yellow power bait to the back of my rapala and I advised my wife to omit the worm and add the power bait to the back of her wedding ring. After that she caught a fish every 15 minutes for a total of three with an additional that missed my net and got loose at the boat. I'm still skunked but my wife is rocking it. I'll keep trying and I'll ditch that stupid rapala and tie on a wedding ring next time!

recon, sounds par for the course! When I take my wife and daughter fishing, my wife catches all the fish and I end up with nothing but fishy hands. LOL.

very nice...Dolloff is a nice little lake huh? I stumbled upon it last week....it's hot for trout right now! enjoy it while it lasts, that little hole is getting a lot of pressure, and when the weather warms up those trout are gonna disapear....

I live right down the road from Dolloff and have been putting more focus on this lake this year. I only fish it for bass, but I've been marking trout all over the middle of the lake, about a foot off the bottom. I passed over a school of at least 30 fish the other evening when I was there, right at 15' and holding still. The bass are hitting fire-tiger perch crankbaits, thrown as close to the docks and weedlines as you can get them. I pulled two out the other evening, both shot out from under docks to hit the crank as soon as it cleared the deepest piling.
