Hit the lake in the am with no luck. A few bites, but nothing to speak of. Went back in the evening and took my wife and kid Bassn' for their first time. With a little bit of work, they both were casting with bate casters pretty darn good. It was a proud moment in my life to see my little girl tossing a spinner trying to land a bass. I caught the only one but I didn't bring my scale. I'm guessing 3 to 4 pounds. I can't wait for my wife and daughter to hook into something soon. Maybe at Potholes.

Thanks Bob! I set her up with a cheap Shakespeare rig that probably only cost $30 rod and reel. It doesn't cast far, but it's pretty tough to back lash it. Perfect starter for a kid to learn the basic mechanics of casting. We're going to Potholes this weekend. Hopefully I'll have some pics of her holding up her first ever Bass! I almost want to cry just thinking about it. How awesome would that be if she learned to love Bass fishin'. She'll be winning tournaments by the time she's 17.

Did you fish Samish today? I think I saw you with probably your wife and kids putting in at the WDFW launch, I almost asked if it was you, but you looked busy with the boat. If it was you, hope you had a good day fishing. Don't worry I'm not a weirdo--I regularly check this website because I fish almost every weekend during lake fishing season.
