I was going to get up early and go fishing so I set my alarm for 6am. I awoke just before 6 and shut that alarm off. I got up at 7:15am. I was on the lake around 9am but it wasn’t until 10 or so that I caught my first fish. It was sunny and calm but as the day progressed the wind would gust and subside. The south side of the lake had an algae bloom that was the same color as my olive woolly bugger that I tried to catch fish with first at the south end of the lake. Then I switched to a type of green wedding ring that I made. I put part of a nightcrawler on and that caught my first fish as I switched to the north end of the lake. The north side didn't have the algae like the south side. I didn’t get any more bites for awhile so I switched to my home made black woolly bugger and caught two crappie and another couple of trout. I switched to a spinner that had a black worm on it (Zak’s Tackle) but no hits on that. I went in to shore and as I was coming back out I lost my green wedding ring. So I put the red one I made on and finished the day with ten fish total. Eight trout and two crappie. I brought five trout home. Fishinrob met up with me on the lake after I had a few fish. It was nice comparing what we used to what we caught. I was home close to 2pm.

TONI . . . thanks for the heads-up on the algae bloom on the south side. I'm heading there with a friend tomorrow morning to drag buggers. Sounds like you did well.
