Was supposed to do a guide trip on Sammamish this a.m. but had a last minute cancellation, so what's a guy to do...i went by myself from 10 - 1, since I had already took a vacation day, and I needed to check out a rewiring job I had just completed on my lowrance unit up on the bow. Beautiful day, water is still colder than I would have expected at 55 degrees. Started out throwing jerkbaits from 5-15 feet deep, had one follow but he swiped and missed it, then swam away. Switched to a crawdad crankbait and caught the smallie in the pic while I was sitting out in 15 feet and casting up to 5, pretty fish, but probably only 2 pounds or so. Only had an hour left but had a nice breeze kick up so I moved down to the south end found some pad fields in 1-5 feet of water and started burning a spinnerbait through them. Managed to tag this decent largemouth, and a kayak fisherman named Erik, watched me catch him, and then was kind enough to take a picture with my camera phone for me. Talked to two nice guys who had hit a couple of nice cutthroat trout, but other than that, not too many people fishing that I saw. By the way, my guide listing is finally active here on the site now, but I had to change hosts, so the website isn't quite back up yet, sorry about that! Hope to see you on the water! Tight Lines -
