Arrived at the Military launch around 1:00 in the afternoon for a mothers day outing. In the past my wife had caught a big one every Mothers day but not this time, it seems the trout are not fond of the usual fare this time of the year so she got skunked however, I thought I'd try some chironomids and rooster tails and was slightly successful. I used a chironomid about 5-6 ft down from a bobber and caught one about 14 inches, the rest of the time they'd just pick at it so I switched to a black/gold rooster tail and got a hit on every 5 cast but was only able to hook up on 2. Overall a nice outing with excellent weather!
