I got to the lake at 6:15pm and in the water by 6:30pm and it was sprinkling. I trolled green woolly bugger then, black woolly bugger, zug bug, and got nothing. Trolled a worm with zero result. Tried a Whitmann lure, salmon roe Z-Ray and got my only fish. Then I went to a Mepps. Nothing. They seem to be deeper than the last time I was there. Of the fish that I heard of that were caught-were on power bait. I thought that the system that is coming in for tomorrow may have something to do with it. There were maybe a total of 5 boats on the lake and 3 people fishing the launch, There were dark clouds with rain north and south of me but I never got wet except for the mild sprinkles when I launched.

I have also noticed the slow bite when trolling/using artificial lures and flies. I'm not much for bait fishing so it's been a frustrating time of me on the lakes since the opener. My dad who is 76 years old and has been fishing forever tells me he believes it’s a barometer issue. I hope he is right and for me the fish can start biting anytime now. I have noticed that many / most of the lake reports indicating success are from those who are bait fishing. Anyway, thanks for your report and you are not alone when it comes to trolling with little to no results. Let’s hope it picks up here soon.

Have had fair to good luck with the Teeny nymph. Green color and Brown color. Slow down the center.
