Holy Smokes!!! The fishing is outstanding on Lake Chelan..Kokanee fishing is just outstanding off Lakeside Park and banging these fish in 35 to 50ft. of water..Kokanee Pros with Flashlites by Mack Lures is the ticket..Go down to 30 ft with the downrigger and get ready..
Laketrout fishing is just as good targeting these fish on Mack Bar and off of Pat and Mikes minimart
The best bait that I have been using is the Ace Hi-Fly by Silverhorde in green glow to Produce both Laketrout and The Chinook..Herring also has been good for Chinook..
Chinook are getting tougher but I am still averaging a hook up or 2 per trip..If targeting the Chinook here on Lake Chelan you have got to be patient..They can be very tough to get to bite because the bellys of these fish are stuffed full of the Fresh water shrimp, so they are not hungry. You have got to make them mad..
Rufus woods is picking up..I was out once this last week and found good biters at and around pump 1 and then motored to off Brandts landing to find hungry fish..Then took the ride to the Pens where they were fairly aggressive..I trolled the Joe Fly (My wooleybugger Style). I also tossed spoons and spinners to the shorelines. I was on a mission to find "Walter of Rufus" and without success we loading thing up and headed to the launch..Ended the day with 31 "Trips and Dips" catch and released..what a ball!!!
Pictured here is The Maxwell Family with 8 of there 13 lakers with a Kokanee hanging out of the mouth.
Also Pictured is Tim Holsten with another "Gem " ChinookFrom our Lake Chelan
Thanks to all that fished with me this week.. Tight Lines to All.
