Got the chance to hit up Panther with Trent for a little Largemouth sticking. Got to the lake right at 6am and already there were 3 boats on the water. Knowing it was opening day, Panther seemed like a good choice because of the low pressure it sees the rest of the year. Well, at one point we counted 20+ boats on this small body of water. Not too chaotic, but still annoying. It did seem like the trouters did well and a lot of happy people all over the lake. We did our thing and had no problems with the trollers. Fished almost all the shoreline around the lake hitting up all key spots and only boated 1 just under 2lbs. Trent missed a 4lber right at the boat as she jumped and spit his jig right back at us. My one came on a shad colored senko t-rigged. I tossed the Hudd a lot and missed one nice fish because she swiped at the face of my swimbait and I missed a solid hook set. We must have seen at least a dozen largies cruising the shallows in less then 5ft. of water. We tried, but I think with the ample supply of food recently stocked and the amount of pressure that day, they were all tight lipped. We'll be back another day to clean-up those we missed.
See ya on the water.
