Well, Opening Day turned out to be cool, a little breezy, and definately off the bite for me. I did once around the lake, switching up several different wooley buggers, trying to find that right color/size. Nada. I tried a Fish Creek Spinner and got a couple taps, but for me anyway the fish were off. I did see some caught, but not many, and judging by the number of guys bailing at 9:30am I'd say others were finding it toug as well. Hope your Opening Day went better than mine!

i just got back from rattlesnake and i did ok. got my limit of little trout but my dad caught a nice tripoid that was big. i seen you but didnt say anythng. we were in a drift boat and the launch was crowded so a litle tough to launch. i had a good day mostly used a olive wooly bugger with a small splitshot on my spinning gear. i did ok though.

I had the same luck as you Mike, at a year round lake I usually do great at. I will try a recently opened lake tomorrow and Monday. I just couldn't bring myself to fight the crowds today.

kingcatcher - nice job on a tough day of fishing. I admit to bailing early as I had stuff I needed to do. Dave - I might hit that same lake you're thinking of - would it be Pine? I'm guessing it's fishing better, and I only have a couple hours so I need to stay close to home...
