no fish caught on sunday , I would rate it a 5 because of the info we got from a lady on here dock . She told me and mattbass that the city of Kent passed a law saying all docks that get replaced on the lake must be see through so the bass have no where to hide , she said they are trying to get rid of the bass in the lake . Just wanted to get some feedback to see if any one else heard this . THANX

Edited by Mike. Please, let's rate the trip on actual fish caught, not weather, fun factor, or hopes for see through docks. :-)

I went to Meridian Friday Apr. 10. Even after Lake was stocked (twice) bite was slower than normal, although spinners and jigs seem to work better on the trout than worm/powerbait. Did manage 3 fish in about 4 hours on bobber with PB. One guy caught 14" holdover bottom fishing about 25-30 feet. Oh well, 3 planters are always better than nuthin'!

wow, hard to believe- I went out Monday, my boy and I, 4:30 to 8:20pm. We fished the north east corner and were catching little kokanee-12". Today I was trolling over by the docks and hooked a 2lb. bow. All I was using was a wallmart special modified wedding ring with a pinch of gulp night crawlers. About 40 to 50 pulls back, no weight, 2ft leader does the trick everytime.

good luck!

You sound so surprised at the rating... The report submission page clearly states how it is supposed to be used: "The rating is a reflection of how good the fishing was, not how much fun you had."

snake7676: It seems you get out on the water a lot.. :) You should consider sending us some reports.

lady on the dock told us , they want to kill off the bass . I do not live in Kent so i dont have much say , ya this news is upsetting . I rated it a 5 because any time you can get information like that and be able to let other people no is important . I could have gone on here and said i caught 1000 fish , Mike i was targeting SMB pay attention , I will word it better for you next time .

bluefox, I agree that this is important info to post, but to get the info out to the WL community and to get feedback, try placing it as a topic on the public forum. It really doesn't get to everyone on the fishing reports section because not everyone reads reports for every lake and if you didn't catch any fish, than it is misleading to post a successful day. I do find the info very interesting though. Bet a lot of people would have some interesting feedback...if not rants! lol.

The lady may have been referring to a new dock being equipped with a steel grate deck on it to allow light to shine through to foster water plant growth. They have done this on the sound in some places to help out the eelgrass.

hey Mattbass... if you submit a report, it asks you to pick a scale based upon how many fish you caught. so when people are surfing the reports they click on a 5 star report ebecause more fish are being caught on that lake and that's where they are headed.

I'm suprised that the city of kent would have anything to do with the fish in the lake...................................... is that even a little bit real? isn't that a wdfw issue? I dont' think the city is involved at all. What department in the city woudl handle 'bass control'?

I heard the law is for see through boat houses, if you notice most all the boats on the lake at docks are covered but the roof is held up by 4 posts, opposed to an actual boat house.
