Took my fiancee Pamela over to check out Mardon Resort for her very first time. We pulled in at round 5:30 while the Bass club was weighing in thier catch. Man, those guys had some real sows! The biggest fish that I saw weighed was a 6.8 lb.Large Mouth Bass, while the biggest bag was 21.4 lbs for 5 fish. There were some real fat and sassy Smallies over 4lbs. weighed in as well. Judging by the large number of boats fishing out in front of the dam, they must of been doing well. We left before the end of the weigh in in order to do some fishing. I tossed a Snake River Tube Jig around the rocks at our first spot, and had no takers. But at the third spot, I switched to a green/pumpkin Arkie jig double tail on a 3/8 oz. football jig head and scored 4 smallies to about 2 lbs by casting out to a shallow reef and slowly reeling it back.Smearing Smelly Jelly Crawfish on the lure seemed to make a big difference. Pam's only fish was a beauty, (it jumped three times) and she was jumping up and down, screaming, so everyone knew she had a nice one! ( I have the best fiancee a guy could want!) We let all 5 fish go to do the spawn thing and fight another day.... Heading up to Banks for crappie on Thursday. The Jigmiester.

Be sure and post on the Crappie at Banks thing. I am headed over there probably a week from Thursday for 4 days. Would love to tackle some Crappie when the Walleye slow down.

Hey nice job! What kind of depth were the fish caught at? Also did you get a water temp? Can't wait to head down there... there water is still pretty cold up here in Spokane.

Joe and guys. Water temp near shore was 57 degrees. As far as i could tell, the water depth was around 10 to 12 feet, with about 4 feet close to the stickups. Almost all the hits we had were at about a third of the way back, near a small drop off shelf, with all of the fish hitting on the drop. Crappie fishing has been picking up at the I-82 ponds near Yakima ( Pond#4)....lots of small fish , caught some bruiser (11 to 12") yellow perch too...not many though. good luck, The Jigmiester.
