Went out to Terrell today with my girlfriend. She had never caught a fish before (other than in a sportsman show trout pond as a kid) so naturally I figured a warmwater-panfish holding lake was the natural place for her to start. She managed a few perchies on a slip bobber and worm as I worked the shoreline for bass. There was a "contest" going on so it was pretty busy. Talked to the folks fishing from the dock and they said only 3-5 out of maybe 15 of the boats brought anything back, 3-5 lbs. Pretty slow. I managed one little guy for my efforts but that was it, got bit in the northeast corner on a black/purple craw right up to the shore. Water temp was 59* in the shallows! Almost time for things to really heat up. Great day on the water, a bit windy but always enjoyable.
