Fished Long today from nine to noon. Original plan was to head out to Banks lake, but the old man had to go to traffic school today for getting a speeding ticket. A buddy and I fished off the rocks in Tum Tum. We each caught 2 squaws & 1 smallie. Caught the squaws on a 3/16 oz. football jig head and bright red twin tail grub tipped with a nightcrawler. Much to my surprise we each hooked up with a smallmouth on a 1/2 oz. lipless crank. Even catching one smallie made the trip worth it. Buddys was about 12 inches, mine was close to 15. My bass hit right at the shoreline. I saw her come out from under a rock and blast my bait. I was shocked that it was so shallow, less than a foot of water, and the fish was aggressive with the water as cold as it is. Bass were released, and the squaw fish were to, after a good smack between the eyes. The wind picked up, my buddy lost a lure in a tree, and we decided to split. Very anxious for the water to warm up - come on 50!
