Had that fishing urge happen lately, couldn't get out last year and i went to the bait shop geared up and stayed local and hit up spanaway lake...its just off pacific avenue and 152nd st by sprinker rec.

I have gone out 2 days in a row now, simply off the dock...and I arrived at 6pm both days and fished till about 830pm..Sunday had a lot of speed boats and jet ski's and I believe 1 angler out of 6 on the dock had 1 trout. I used a 2 and a half foot liter with a slip and rainbow power bait...I caught a 14inch rainbow and 10min later hooked a 12incher...Monday was a lot better....I hooked 3 fish but others on the dock were between 2 and 3 being there about the same amount of time as me...the lake was a lot quieter and I feel made a good difference...the man at my bait shop informed me that the new lime green twist power bait has been working and he was right, I was the top guy on the dock that day, most others were using worm and marshmallow off the bottom.. this lake has one obvious spot to fish if your in the boat...the south east end of the lake...bobbers and worm, powerbait or worm off the bottom are all effective...anglers will troll pop gear, wedding rings or power bait about !
5ft down and have success as well...I stress highly the hot spot is southeast, not south, for the direct south end has an incredible amount of algae and is virtually un trout-fishable..
