Well went out this morning to try my luck a Kitsap lake again. Was only out a for a couple hours and nothing. This is my thrid time fishing the lake and am wondering what I am doing wrong. I mainly use weading rings with a worm to troll with, have always had great luck with that. I have only got one fish out of kitsap lake using that, but it was a nice one..16 1/2 inches..

I have tried bottom fishing from a boat, from the shore using all diffrent types of baits and lures. Never seem to get any bites. I am hoping once we get some more warm weather they will start to bite.

scott080379,

Have you looked through the other reports on the site to see what they're doing to catch the fish? Wedding rings are a great tool to use, but they don't work everywhere, and only certain types of fish will bite on them... and not during the entire season. You really need to know what depth you're trolling them at, and more importantly, you have to know that the fish are hanging at that depth as well. As an example of why you and others should consider purchasing Premium memberships, I'll tell you that the Historical Data tools for that lake show that bottom fishing from a boat, using just a hook and some powerbait is the best method... that's a far different method than what you're doing, and I imagine it would be more productive when the water is still so cold. Better luck next time.

Aaron, I have looked through other reports and tried a few other lures and plugs but no luck. Also fishing the bottom with lures from the boat didn't produce anything either. I will look into purchasing a Premium membership. To be honest I have never been a big lake fisher when it comes to trout. i prefer to fish the rivers and streams, but with none being open yet I am forced to fish the lakes.

thanks for the info and response
