My nephew and I went up to Curl Lake for the opening day. We arrived at 7:30 from the Tri-Cities and went home around 10 with 2 big ones. My was 3 pounder and his was 2 pounders. My nephew start out using spinners the first hour, he was catching about 4 fish every other cast. I was using sinker and hook to get at the bottom. I started to use the white power bait eggs, but no bites - so switch to pink. Then I was getting bites. My nephew caught his 2 pounder at 8:30 and then 15 minute later I caught the 3 pounder. The weather was cloudy, rainy, and cold. We saw several people catching big ones and nobody went home empty handed.
