After seeing they planted fish at Nahwatzel, I decided to make a trip from Seattle. Never been to the lake so I left the house early to enjoy a day fishing and thinking I would get lost at least once. I arrived in Mason Co before daylight and of course missed the public access. As the sun was peeking out I thought the water looked weird but unloaded and setup my rods in the dark. By sunrise I decided to launch and found out the lake was partially frozen about 75' out. Being in my pontoon, I skirted around the edges of the ice until it totally melted off and C&R 12, missing couple more from being to slow to react (actually I was cold). Used both dark and light colored leech patterns I made. There was no wind until after 1 pm. About 4-5 other boats trolling or bait fishing. One of the guys said the water temp was about 36. Felt colder since I was the icebreaker in the AM. Over all the fishing was great. I went over to the other side of the lake and caught fish so not just the recently planted. If it warms up soon the fish will spread out.
