Arrived at lake just before daybreak with hopes of catching some of the 2000 trout planted in this small pond the day before yesterday. At dawn the cormorants started to show up; by the time it was light enough to fish the surface of the lake was alive with them. I counted 41 cormorants perched on every structure on or near the lake and most of them were in the water. I t was a waste of time but I tried to fish in between the cormorants to no avail. At the rate they are eating fish all of the planted fish will be gone by the weekend. As with the protection of the sea lions who are now decimating the endangered salmon in the Columbia river It appears migratory bird protection will finish off the fish that the sea lions can't get to. Thanks again congress.

well i think one of your problems besides the birds was ur bait............well for one in the morrning like that you should be tryin to use a kastmaster or even better a wullybugger a clear bobber and then at like 10-12 then switch to powerbait an usally the green or green rainbow works the best on klineline and specialy on BG lake

I agree with GNickelson, it's time to replace the traditional Thanksgiving turkey with cormorants!

:P
