I have never been to Lone Lake before and decided to go try my new rod and reels. Got up early and missed the ferry I wanted. Got on the lake by 9:00 and landed 2 nice 14" trout in 15 minutes. Used my new type 3 sinking line with black BH woolly buggers. Used every color in my box with the darker colors working best. Weather was great with sun out and it warmed up nicely (chilly in the morning). By the time I left around 2 pm I landed about 10 and missed about 4 with the largest about 15"-16". This is a great lake and will have to come back again. Not sure how the other 5-6 people did.

Clark&Lewis,

what technique were you using? Were you slow trolling, casting, ??? I am new to fly fishing and hit the lake up after reading your post. No luck on the flies but I caught a nice size trout on a slow trolled wedding ring. (Let it go..)
