This report is unusual. Consequently, it may not get printed. But, I will submit it, as follows:
I am a 65 year old guy who lived in Bellevue until I was 20 years old, when I moved to Los Angeles. Before moving, I used to go to the "pit", which was Phantom Lake, with my father. The lake was so rural, and deserted, that we used to practice target shooting with pistols there. What is interesting, however, is the fact that Phantom Lake was listed by the local game warden(whoever he was) as "the best spiny ray lake in King County" according to the best guide to Washington lakes that had been published at that time. The lake was surrounded with mud in those days, consequently, I could never figure out how to get close enough to it to fish deep enough to catch anything. I tried, but my casts from shore were not long enough. I submit this information in order to encourage people to give the lake a try. Apparently, it was a great fish producer for warmwater species at one time.
