Went out to Lake Union this morning around 10 and fished the ship canal along Nickerson St between West Ewing Park and the Fremont bridge with no luck. Only thing I caught was a Canadian Goose that flew right into my line while it was out on the bobber. I broke the 3lb leader off, but it freaked out and the jig head hooked into it's neck and I felt really bad, but it twisted its neck and used it's beak to rip the jig out. Ended up being just fine. Now the fishin report: Fished bobber and jigs about 5-8 feet deep and even threw in a small crankbait hoping for something, but nothing. Doesn't really look like a spot where crappie would hang out. Water was pretty clear and the weather was a splended 60 degrees. Does anyone know a spot along the ship canal that might be able to produce any fish?

Nope, I'm looking for that magic Crappie spot as well. I hear anytime from 7pm-12am is when the crappie bite is happening. Around pilings, wood, and submerged forest. They will be moving to deeper water soon per SlabKing

Yeah I found a new spot on the south west corner off Westlake Ave N and Valley St on Lake Union right next to Lake Union Park. There is a nice spot where there are several wooden pilings, but the only way to get to those pilings is by boat or to fish under a blue walking bridge. I fished there with no luck this morning, but I hooked into a different fish I wasn't expecting! The post should come up either tonight or tomorrow. It's a crazy story!
