Got to the Kenmore boat ramp at 8:00 a/m after dropping off my daughter at school. Headed up to the North side of the 520 bridge, pretty cold ride in an open boat. I thought I would target coho today. Made a few passes parallel with the bridge, saw a few on the finder about at about 40' also had one leap out of the water right in front of my boat...got some pretty good air. I don't have a downrigger, have only fished for salmon a couple times and I don't really know what the heck I am doing so I guess I shouldn't be surprised if I got skunked. Went around Hunts point after that to try for some smallies. Pitched a frog under a dock and let it sit for a minute, as soon as I started to move it the water swelled up and before the fish could even take a bite I tried to set the hook. After sitting idle for a couple hours I think I was a little trigger happy!
Fished the docks and shoreline some more then started trolling a deep crank bait...... Nothin'
I gave this day a 2 rating even though I didn't catch anything because the water was like glass and any day you can fish instead of work is a good day.
