I have been wanting to try McMurray before the end of the season so I took my float tube for a couple hours in the morning. I got into the water at about 9:00 am and fished for a little less than two hours. There was a couple of other boats on the water, one appeared to be trolling and the other seemed to be still fishing.
I headed straight out from the boat launch and kind of did a zig zag looking for fish. I was using a small tube jig with a power worm and I tried a few different colors throughout the morning. I missed my first hit which came a little before 10:00 and it hit really hard. Not long after I missed that fish I hooked a decent rainbow which was probably about 14". After I caught that fish I had no more bites but I did see the couple still fishing in the boat nearby land a couple, I couldn't tell what they were but I assumed they were trout.
It was a tough morning fishing wise but I didn't get skunked and the lake was gorgeous, glassy and sunny conditions. There are definitely still some fish to be had in this lake, a fish finder would probably help a lot. Even with the tough fishing I had a great time just being outside and appreciating nature. Sorry about the quality of the picture with the fish, it is tough to take a good pic from a float tube if you are trying to keep the fish in the water.
