Decided to take advantage of the sunny morning and see if there are any fish left in little heart lake. I started at about 8:30 in my float tube and I was the only one at the lake. It was very cool with the sun still behind the trees and mist on the surface of the lake.
I started slow trolling with a small tube jig and powerworm and got my first fish a little after nine. It was a very healthy rainbow, probably about 13-14" but fat and I would guess around 1.25 lbs. I got my second fish about a half an hour later on a similar set up with different colors and again about the same size and very healthy. My third and last fish came about 15 minutes later which was another cookie cutter.
Overall it was a really good morning fishing at a local lake on a beautiful, but chilly, fall day. I only fished for a little over two hours and ended up with three very decent trout (all released looking in very good shape and never being lifted out of the water) and missed a couple of others. I was the only one on the lake until about the last half an hour when someone else showed up and started fishing from the bank. There are definitely still some biters in the lake and the pressure is very light, will probably go back before it closes on the 31st.
