Headed out to the Big Pond today for some bassn with Ben (bpm3067). After much deliberation as to whether or not we should even consider fishing on a day like they where predicting, we decided to go for it. On the water by daybreak the conditions were great and for a moment I thought, maybe they got it all wrong.
We launched out of Atlantic City and fished West of Mercer Island for the majority of the day. Tried just about everything and landed some nice keepers D-Shotn in about 20-27ft of water. Water temp is around 63 and the weedline is ending at around 20ft. Ran across a couple of schools with some tight lipped bass hugging the bottom underneath. My bass came on a Sand Sniper Snub and Ben's came on a Shad Roboworm. No crank bass at all which was surprising with all the chop on the water. Also, dragged around a huddlebug football head for nothing.
The weather got worse after 10am, rain here and there and wind that pushed us up into coves for some relief. By the time noon rolled around it was whitecapping and even with a driftsock it was just about impossible to keep the bait down and detect a bite. Saw a couple other crazy bassers out and hope those guys did well. It's always nice to see that your not the only crazy one around.
Until next time guys. Hope to see ya on the water.

Good job Fishnislife. I used to be crazy enough to fish in weather like yesterday -- And, caught a lot of fish decked out in full rain gear. I fished in many windy conditions where I had to drop an anchor to fish the best spots. So, do it now while you are young -- I can almost assure you that it will not look like so much fun as you approach your 9th decade of life. Tight lines. BJ

RwR - one perch all day. We tried are hardest to stay away from them bait stealers. Had perch hit but would just rip the bait up. Fish are spread out all over, even the perch aren't in large schools yet.
