This was my first time to this lake so I didn't know what to expect. We got there just as the sun should have been rising but never had a chance to see because of the overcast. To my surprise though there was already an angler getting ready to launch his boat. The water was very clear and very low. All reeds and many of the ideal spots that I would have been casting for were out of the water or in very shallow water. I did see lots of beds all around the lake. Caught one fish after about an hour of nothing. It was about as long as the green red flaked lizard that I was using. After another hour of nothing I was about ready to leave and it started raining but I thought I might as well check out the far end and along the shore by the girl scout camp. Sure enough that was probably where I should have started or maybe it was the rain helping me not really sure. But did find some deeper water, some good trees and other good targets that produced 10 more fish with the biggest at about 1.5 pounds coming right off a dock by the camp. Used 7 in worms, small lizards, and black and blue mini spinnerbait. I will be back a lot earlier in the season next year for another try maybe when the water level is up.
