Fished Quail Lake mostly. Got blown off lake the first day, there
was a lot of activity though far as fish go, bugs all blown away as were we.
Rest of the days weren't to windy to fish and there were lots of beautiful
trout jumping (16-23). We weren't able though to catch very many fish. I
think we caught 2 fish at quail for our efforts. Frustrating trip. Fished
in our tubes and fished buggers, marabou leeches, chironomids, dry midges,
damsel nympths and adults. Fished about 1hour into darkness one night.
Frustrating. Caught a couple bluegill and small rainbows in the lake near
camp. I think it was herman lake? Oh, and if you read that the trail to
Quail lake is only like a 1/2 mile hike in, they are lying. It took us a
painful 35 minutes of fast walking with tubes and all are gear. Watch out
for Rattlers too.
