Went to Conconully lake for my vacation and tried a little bass fishing. Just managed to catch a TON of dinks. Was using black senkos and brown grubs. The lake is super clear and has plant patches in down to 20 feet of water! Tried the the shallow side of the lake first got tired of the dinks and ran to the other side that has major drop offs. Still just dinks! I was catching them down to 25 feet of water. Didn't bring my depth finder but i imagine the big boys are holding off the major creek channel but had no way to prove it. All in all it was fun to caught a few and my daughter and wife had a blast catching the dinks so I'd say it was a good trip. Sure would've like to got into some hawgs though.

I have fished that lake for bass too and all I caught were dinks. Is there still a population of big gold fish in the lake?

Didn't see any goldfish while I was there.
