Boy! I was out there for about 1 hour then BAM! there he was my 5 1/2 pound Rainbow on my little U-light pole man that was a fun fight it to a while, i didn't even know that he was that big until he got to the shore and took off again. I fought him back in strung him up, explained to every one what i was using and went back to fishing only got one more little guy but it was a great day. i was using rainbow power with a garlic mellow about 50-60 feet out for the shore off to the right of the launch.

Shane,

According to the lake info. on Walakes.. it calls this a private 36 acre lake, but I see reports from various people who don't live in the area, (Kevinb) So... is it private or not? It also lists it as no access, but says that the entry road skirts the lake, so if it is public, do you just launch a tube from the roadside?

Well done, sir! There's ( almost ) nothing like hooking a big 'bow on light line to get the 'ol adrenaline flowing

Beautiful bow! I have caught both rainbow and largemouth bass from this nice remote lake but nothing near as big as that. There is a rough launch area and I have launched a small trailered boat there.

This lake is public but in the regs. it mentions a private road. I've never had a problem here, this lake also has a nice population of brookies.
I know bass are here but I've never had any luck.

There is a public logging road that leads down to the lake, but both times I've tried to get down there and launch my kayak, it's been blocked by a big metal gate with no explanation as to why or how long it would be closed. So I just stopped trying...especially since all the reports I'd read indicated the bass fishing was nothing special.
