We headed over to Potholes on Thursday and got to the lake around 9:30. We had trouble with the big motor and had to mess around with that for about an hour before my dad figured out the pin or screw on the big motor had gotten moved around to where the motor wouldn't fire. We finally got to Goose Island and started trolling around there around 11. We caught a few smallmouth and picked up a walleye about 19" using a crankbait and a bottomwalker with a leech and worm on. The next day we headed down to Goose Island again in the morning and picked up another walleye that was 22" and caught a few small smallmouth. Later on in the evening we headed up to the crab creek channel and around the dunes and trolled around and caught a yellowbelly bullhead and 2 smallmouth. One of the smallmouth was 18" and about 3-4lbs, which is the biggest smallmouth I've gotten so far to date. Overall it was ok, but WAY TOO HOT and the walleye fishing was pretty slow.
