Fished Joy from 8:00 to 10:30 AM. (I know, you aren't supposed to fish in broad daylight on hot summer days). Water temp was 76 at 2 feet depth. Took a while to find the fish, but they were all off the ends of docks that stood in water more than 4 feet deep. I was using an unweighted senko and it took a while for it to sink to where the fish were. When I tried a weighted lure I got nothing. This is the first year I have used an attractor scent and I am now convinced it helps. However I wrestle with my conscience since it is getting pretty close to bait fishing which I try to avoid. The fish are getting a bit bigger and decent size: 4 largemouths 9 to 11" and two smallies: 11 and 15". The bigger smallmouth (over 2 lbs) put up a good fight including a couple of jumps after I wouldn't let him get back under the dock.
I notice that King County installed a trash barrel at the launch and are pruning the brush back from the trail. Both are much appreciated.
