Decided to hit Geneva in the float tube yesterday morning - close to my house and I'd never been there before. Put in at 5:45am at the WDFW "boat ramp" and instantly discovered that corner of the lake is about 8" deep and the bottom smells like sewage when you kick it up. Not fun.
Threw a buzzbait around the docks, no action. Switched to plastic frog, no action. By 7am I was dropshotting a 5" finesse worm in about 20 feet of water in front of the docks and finally started getting a few hits. Landed two LMB, the largest being about 12" and maybe a pound. The smaller one would have made a nice fish stick. Had a few more taps but nothing serious, and then the wind picked up about 9am and started blowing me all over the place. Kicked back through the muck and called it a day.
Not a bad day of fishing but I'm not all that crazy about this lake. Lots of docks to fish but the water is very clear. I'd rather fish natural structure and stained water, like across the street at Killarney.
