Went to harts today for crappie/ catfish. Arrived on the lake around 7 a.m, water like glass, then heading home round 830 p.m. Started trolling a worm to the opposite side of the lake from the boat launch without success. Decided to try for crappie with jigs and bobber. Caught fish consistently all day with the largest being around 13 inches (all c&r). The crappie were averaging round 7 inches with some bigger and some smaller. Talked with a guy who we gave most our fish to and he later landed a 19 lb 4 oz catfish and was having a grand old time. All crappie were caught with a yellow or blue crappie jig about 2 ft under a bobber. The fish were surfacing like everywhere early on. It was like several little fish were bubbling and then the bigger fish were eating them? Not sure but the weather was excellent, few boats, and a good time to spend with a friend.
p.s. I know this question has been asked a lot, but where are the catfish located in this lake. Only have been able to manage small bullheads? The guy caught his in the lillies but we didn't a chance to ask his method. Any suggestions would be great!! Thank you FISH
