Went to Ballinger.. (have you ever tried "check spelling" for ballinger?) Funny! ...for the afternoon and early evening bite with the dock boys. The fishing wasn't real hot but everyone caught fish and had a good time. The fish were real nice fighters and averaged about 11" to 13".Nice and fat! I was using yellow power eggs and a marshmallow. I think everyone was using yellow eggs or rainbow powerbait and fishing with 3 to 4 feet of leader and letting it just sit on the bottom, out as far as you can cast. The water was nice and about 72 degrees. This next week it will warm up a few more with the warm weather and the bass will perk up. Talked with some boat people and they were going for bass with no luck...nada...zip. Trolling for trout wasn't great if you couldn't get down near the bottom and troll real slow. Sorry but no pictures...The dock boys are probably wanted in several counties. Wouldn't want to ruin their summer.

Went to Lake Stickney and looked at the water off the dock......no fish...just looked. All I saw was Mom Mallard and her three kids.... Not much wildlife in that little lake/pond. I stopped on the way home at Ed's Surplus for some fresh worms and will try some beach fishin' the next few days. My little boat is about ready to go out and try some trollin' soon. Gotta go up to Pass Lake and do some fly fishin'.
