Well after I dropped off Brett I continued on for another 6 hours. Around 4 p.m hooked into and landed this nice 39.5" x 16.5 Tiger back in a cove. Got a very kind family to take a few shots. Answered a bunch of questions...and no Musky still doesn't taste good!! Anyhooo, nice bunch of folks. Thanks for taking the photos.

Nice fish Todd! I figured the action would pick up in the afternoon. The weather changed, hardly any boat traffic and the fish would feed before they moved to their hide spots out of the sun.

New I shouldn't have left so early in the day! Nice fish! And yeah Ski, the light traffic today was wonderfull! Didn't have to dodge any jet ski's today :)

Nice job.
I hope nobody is trying to eat these. We had a call where a guy at a piece of musky,2 days later.....he's dead.

I personally have eaten several tigers and pike from our state and muskies and pike from others and they are great. Fillet like salmon and taste like bass. Everyone I've fed it to fell in love with it either bbq'd or fried. It's funny how everyone knocks things they have not tried. I challenge all you guys to try it at some point in your life and prove your gossip wrong. Good luck on the water.

Hi ya Capt. It's a personal taste thing I think. Most folks from the Midwest who hang out with the muskie guys have had it back home when they were younger.
No big deal. I personally like walleye or trout. Yup Trout. Or better yet, for the finest white fish, halibut. YUM! Muskies got too many bones to mess with and besides,
to eat one legally now (over 50 inches) can you imagine the amount of PCB's in a fish that old. Yech. Not to mention the slime, oh the slime.

If its Gorton's its got to be good!! Uhm I was just trying to be funny... I've eaten enough true muskies back in Wisconsin when I was a kid.My mom used to fry and at times bake it in some crushed cornflake batter. Now if I need to eat fish I'll grab a few perch,crappies or gills..or some cod or something. I respect your cuisine Capt'n. I'm into the thrill end of Musky fishing now. Catch, photo and release..I have grown to learn patience,persistance and determination with these fish..thanks for all the kind words folks.
And jetman221 I've got most of my fish on these spinner type baits made in Wisconsin..vague but I hope this helps...

No,but seriously...we had a call where a guy ate a tiger muskie and 2 days later he was found dead with his head shoved up his butt. Freak'n crazy man

I agree with you guys on the quality of the water affecting the muskie here and yes, at 50+ inches, they ain't gonna taste that good anyhow. I much prefer red meat but did fry up a couple pike the other day. However, salmon season is here and it's time to focus on them and stay off the lakes unless the rivers are out. Good luck the rest of your lake seasons.

I have to weigh here, fileting a muskie or tiger muskie is just ridiculous. Catch, photo, release (as said above) is the only way to go. These are trophy fish like large mouth bass and no one should be harvesting these for the dinner table. Let these fish grow so they can provide more and more enjoyment for future generations!
