OK I keep hearing how easy these things are I have to be doing something wrong launched at nine mile started up stream looking for drop offs at the weed edges lots of weeds no fish went down stream same thing I used a white jig, Gabe used a white and red jig did get one squaw fish. I think I need to concentrate on a smaller lake until i figure this out we did have a good time just being out. the weather was nice until about 10 when it started to get hot. we left about 230.

Did you launch by the Spokane house or at the Resort? If you launched by the resort hang a right off the launch and head towards the dam. If you launched by Spokane House head down towards the resort. You will see tons of structure to fish. Early in the morning they seem to hang really close to shore, and afternoon go deeper. I would look for rocky banks as that is where I have caught some good smallies. I would mostly use cranks, spinners, swim baits (reaction baits) as they are pretty aggressive right now. I have only fished the lake 3 times and all three times we have caught between 9-12 bass in less than 6 hrs. Don't give up, I will be out there with the family tomorrow night (4-8pm) if you see a little bass tracker come by and ask how we are doing!!

Papamike,
Great advice from spokanebassman. I have had the same luck as he has, but rather exclusively with drop shot and tex rigged worms. Hammered them a few weeks ago, downstream of the nine mile launch on worms. Pumkenseed, watermelon, etc. They hit it all. I was changing baits a lot, just to see what all would work. I work the north side of the lake, rely a little on electronics to find cover. But mostly for depth. Drop me a pm if ya would like to rip a few lips out there sometime. I try to get out every Saturday SOMEWHERE to maintain my sanity. A break from the daily grind. Good luck at any rate.

If your going after Crappie? We fish towards the DNR and Tum Tum, Fish right on the edge of the pads with small jigs, small Tubes and small shads work well , drop them right off the boat and work them about 2ft off the bottom. We have lots of luck with this and the kids love it, you'll pull some Sun Fish up as well.
I'm sure this will work anywhere on the lake around the pads,
Good luck see you on the lake.
Matt
