We were fishing by 7pm. It was still warm out and I didn’t take the temperature of the lake. The dead beaver was not in the water at the ramp any more. I think someone threw it in the bushes because it STINKS.
My son wanted to catch bass and I wanted to catch fish. At the first spot I caught 2 little perch and 3 little bluegills on a hook with ½ nightcrawler and a small split shot. He caught 0 bass on a buzz bait. We moved to another spot and didn’t get any bites. Moved to the next spot and Bo casted his buzz bait into a tree and when it dropped to the edge of the water we saw a wake of a fish that moved away. Saw it move one more time and it was gone. Since we only about a ½ hour to fish we trolled worms. Right away I thought I had hooked weeds but it was the biggest bluegill I have caught. It was 9 or 10 inches ling and 4 to 5 inches wide. We kept trolling ½ nightcrawler with split shots in what might be the deepest part of the lake (or near to). 3 bluegill and 2 trout trolling. I didn’t know that one could catch bluegills trolling.
