Arrived at Jerry's Landing around 6 a.m. The parking lot was already full when I arrived, it was busier than when I normally go for dock fishing. The weather was Sunny, no wind and visibility shoreline areas. I took out one of the rental row boats from Jerry's and headed to the first cove North. I used a few different methods, topwater popper, spinnberbait, buzzbait, senkos. Around 7 I was reeling in my chartreuse colored spinnerbait about 15 yards off the cove and landed a crappie. It was probably about 7 inches maybe.I released it back though. Catch and release! It's in the picture. Stayed in that first cove for awhile before moving down to the cove north of first one. I tried the lily pads but nothing. I ended up spotting a Doe and her two fawns. They were running and bucking, little buggers. They are hard to see in the pic, the doe is partially behind the upper left tree. Was probably 12 boaters in all on the lake, as well as a pontoon plane. The weather was still sunny and no wind upon a 10:50 departure. That was the only fish I had all day just the one crappie. Thank you to the folks at Jerry's Landing the boat was better than the dock, Great people! Better luck for me next time!
