I got to the lake a little after 9am but talked with another fishing person until almost 9:30am. When I launched my boat I tried not to hit the stinkin’ dead beaver that was there. I ahve never seen a beaver, live or dead before.
I started fishing for bass with a buzz bait. Then my cell phone rang, I answered it, and my work asked me if I wanted to work. Well I could use the money so I said yes and now I only had an hour and a half to fish. I switched to fishing for something that would bite. I wouldn’t mind a perch or crappie. I found that the blue gill were going after my nightcrawlers. I caught so many that I quit counting. I also caught 2 perch. I left at 11am and still avoided the dead beaver. The lake has lots of weeds. I only saw one other person fishing.

How did you get past the beaver without poking it with a stick or something?

It was floating to left side of the ramp and I went in the middle and to the right. I have a small boat.

I would of poked it and if I had a big enough stick I would of picked it up with the stick and slung it at my fishin' partner like I do with everything else dead we run into.

It stunk so bad how could you want to poke it???? I steered clear of it...I went tonight (7-13) but the beaver was gone. The smell wasn't. I think someone slung it into the bushes, probably with an oar not a stick. It was large.
