Tapps was mostly calm and heavily overcast. Water temp was in the low 70's. Smallies were small and crappies were handsize. I caught a couple of each and Rosann caught one crappie.
Started to troll and caught this 18 footer on the back side of Banker's Island. You really have to use stealth to sneak up on one of these and get them hooked up. Was glad to have the super yellow line to fight it all the way to the boat launch.
I don't have a scale but I'm betting it was over 2000 pounds and no way I could get my arms around the girth. When you do help one of these get out of the water you tend to make new friends. Nice to see you Dilbert and Gary Wheeler too.
Dilbert, if he needs any help figuring out the problem let me know.

It's good to see Bill pressing out that beard again. Hopefully it will be full on by Christmas.

We sure were lucky to have you guys come right around the corner right as we started having problems. Thanks again for the tow back to the launch! The primary culprit appears to have been a very nasty very corroded starter cable going to the battery. Within 2 hours we had the cable replaced, ate some burgers, and took the boat back on the water for a victory lap (while looking for any boaters in distress to help out). The next project will be to divide the aux systems and trolling motor to one battery, and let the starter have its own battery.
