Very Nice day! Launched at Nine Mile. First time on Long Lake, went for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Fished from 6am-Noon and caught 11 fish! 3 Pickerel (I think never caught one before), 5 SMB, 2 LMB, and 1 HUGE CARP!! Carp weighed in at 16lbs and 9ozs. Messed the pic up on my phone but I think you will get the gist of it! What a fight. I was using a jig with a white grub on the end and hooked into the beast! It was about a 5 minute fight and what a blast!! Bass went from 1-2.5 lbs so no big ones but great fights and some good Ariel action on the smallies! It was one of those days when most things worked--caught a couple on swim baits, couple on cranks, couple on jigs. Seemed to like the darker colors today, most fish caught on browns and pumpkinseed colors. The pattern today seemed to be fishing rocky banks, every time we got to a part of the bank that had large boulders that dropped off quickly to either weeds or soft bottom were where we caught them.
Any tips on Long close to 9 Mile would be very appreciated! Had a blast and not to many pleasure boaters as Hoopfest was going on!!
