I got up early to fish Clear Lake. I started out around 6:30am. It was windy and cold to my bones. My target was Kokanee. I missed the target. The water temp was 66 on the surface and 64 below. I trolled. I tried to still fish but my anchor ropes are still too short. I think I may not have been deep enough. I switched to half a nightcrawler and tossed it into the grass (looking to catch bass) and caught 2 rainbows. Trolled back to the ramp and on the way caught a perch. I left about 9:30 or 10am. There were several boats that came about the same time as I did. Several left at the same time I did.

Did you ever come up with a chum recipe?

I did. Since I culdn't anchor I only tossed it into the water to watch it go sideways as I moved with the wind. Do you anchor? How long are your anchor ropes?

I have 50' ropes on my anchors but I rarely use them, I like to troll most of the time unless I'm bass fishing. I might try the chum some day though if it helps.
