I fished Lake Sixteen from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm Thursday June 12, 2008. I trolled a green Jameson Shrimp fly which I hooked one fish on however he spit the hook at the boat after a nice fight. I also hooked a second trout on an olive Woolly Bugger but lost him right after the hook up. Both flies I used were new hand tied flies my dad mailed me. My dad has been fly fishing and tying his own flies for 65 years and still ties amazing flies to this day. Recently I learned that the Jameson shrimp fly isn’t sold anywhere and is a local fly tied by anglers who used it back in the day or have had the pattern passed down from someone who is familiar with it. This info was provided by a long time fly shop owner in Seattle. The Jameson shrimp has always been a top producer for my dad and me since he started taking me fishing back in 1970. Anyways, it was fun to use my dad’s special hand tied flies. It took me right back to being a kid fishin with my dad. We hope to take a trip here soon as we haven’t been fishin together for way too many years.

There were 3 other boats on the water. I saw one boat catch 2 trout. One on a bobber, I am guessing he was using a worm. The other gentleman was fishing bait on the bottom. Not sure what he was using. It was a nice evening on the lake. No wind and some sun at times as the dark clouds passed by. The bald eagle that lives on this lake also didn’t disappoint. I saw him hit the water maybe 100 yards from my boat however I didn’t see if he caught a fish as he flew to his tree top. Nice trip, slow bite. Water was 60 degrees F.
