WOW, great fish, and who would have thought that the spawn on this side of the state would be going on this late in the year?

I was afraid we would loose an entire year class of fish, but looks like there is hope.

We were using a 4" green tube jig. at the lower end of the lake by the DNR halfway towards the Dam in about 8' of water. It still very cold water.
My son's fish was full of eggs. He did not want to let it go, But he's learning that a picture is forever and its better to always catch and release.
Also need to follow the fishing regs.
Good luck and have fun on the lake.

Wow, great fish man, i still have not hit the 6lb range yet and i fish bass quite often. I have not hade much time out on long lake, I see that you have a smaller boat like mine. I was woundering where you launch a boat like ours at? I know there is a launch just below the spokane house above the lil spokane inlet, but i don't have a big motor just a lil trolling motor. Is the current to strong for me or is there a better spot to launch for the bass that is closer. I am not sure where to fish for the largemouth there, i know the smallies are down at the other end. I have cought them from the bank. But anyhow, if you could hook me up with a few lil tips i would really appreciate it, i want to get into long lake. I got eloika and downs lake down i think, i want some new territory. K, thanks.

We put in at the DNR boat launch, it's about 7 miles past Tum Tum,(no charge) The pads will be coming up soon and they will be hanging out under them.
Right now we are finding them by the downed tree and logs. using jigs and some crank baits.
Good luck, and see ya on the lake.

Great, thanks for the info man. I went to a few places on long today but to many jet skiers etc.. So i fished Red lake right there and a lil off the bank at long but nothing to really talk about. I will deffenetly be checking out the launch you mentioned to me. what do you think about the Rapalla top waters there or even sinkos? Well you are catching large mouth with a crank bait in 5 feet of water, must not be a very deep diver i take it. Anyhow, keep on fishin.
