Wasn't expecting to fish this weekend based on the weather forecast, but Sunday looked okay (though still pretty chilly for June), so I headed out to Long Lake again in my Tracker. It wasn't bad on the water, except for the hard-core water skiers (water temp was 55F) out to churn the water to a froth. Fished the south end of the lake, pitching and flipping the pads and hitting isolated points of cover. Got my first bite at about 7:30pm or so on my trusty black Zoom trick worm as it drifted down behind a large submerged log. Actually, never felt the bite, just went to move my bait and felt weight on the line, so I set the hook. Produced a nice 3lb 4oz largemouth. Only had one other bite on a T-rigged small green Yum craw. I was crawling it down a log that ran next to a floating dock and felt a hit and set the hook, but the fish dove into some nearby pads and managed to get the hook out before I could get to him. Chilly three hours on the water, not completely un-productive, but I'm ready for some summer-like temperatures. At least in the 70s or so...I need the water temp to come up to near 70 to get some topwater action going.
