3 pretty good days of walleye fishing on Banks this weekend. A lot of boats struggled and a few caught limits. It was completely hit or miss, but if you found them you were on them. Friday night in 3 1/2 hours we caught 7 between 16-20, 2 dinks and a 12 inch perch. Saturday we limited by 230pm and that's including an 1 1/2 hour shore visit. Saturday the fish were between 16 and 24 inches. Sunday we only fished for 3 hours and caught 8 between 16-18 inches and another nice perch. I will be back in two weeks.

No 34's for my boat. On the bright side look at what was for supper Saturday night. My boat had walleye sandwhiches. The other boat split a burger that some other camper was trying to get rid of. We were relaxing at the campsite at 230pm, they were sweating. I would love to catch a 34, but I had no problems with the numbers we put up. I will take that every week.

What were the water temps and what was the weather like? Planning to go to Steamboat Rock in a couple of weeks.

How deep were you fishing? I'm going to try this lake for the first time next week. I'm going for bass but would love to get it to some walleye never caught one.

Fish were caught this weekend anywhere from 11-59 feet. Sorry to be so vague but that is serious. You just have to do a lot of searching. It takes work and boat fuel. On the bright side, you find a rock, more than likely you will find a smallmouth.

Not really sure - but do I see some gill-touching going on there?

Oh, and tell me you took the cheeks. I would HATE to have to report cheek-wasting to our Minnesota contingent.

Meat nuggets! Two weeks...

I did touch the gill but I cleaned my hands with hand sanitizer first. We cut the cheeks out of the dinks. No sense in wasting meat.
